The idea of "Squire Variations" -- bass lines by Chris Squire of Yes as the foundation for extended works for solo electric bass -- was suggested by Bill Martin in his book Music of Yes, who likens them to a modern version of Bach's Suites for Unaccompanied Cello. Another model for these arrangements is the work of John Bayless, specifically his solo piano interpretations of Beatles melodies in the style of Bach (as found on Bach Meets the Beatles and Bach on Abbey Road).

So far I've finished arrangements for "South Side of the Sky" and "To Be Over". Currently I'm working on "The Remembering".
