Working to set Langston Hughes's poem "Freedom's Plow" to music has gotten me interested in recording a set of more-or-less political songs. I've written a handful of such tunes, and I cover a handful more. Adding in "Freedom's Plow" (which is over 25 minutes long) could result in a powerful collection of songs about the importance of freedom. Here is a possible lineup:
