OK, I'm getting the message about adding some splashes of color to these pages! Hey, I love Crayola crayons as much as the next person, so the more color the better!
Well, within reason. You can easily overdo it with flashy colors (just visit HotBot to see what I mean), but, used judiciously, the right colors can really spice up your pages.
There are many ways not to markup your documents for color; in fact, there's an example right in this sentence. I don't recommend that you do it in those ways, because now that we have stylesheets at our disposal we have much better means of creating consistent color schemes for our sites. However, I will tell you how to do it in the ways I don't recommend. And who said I'm not a nice guy?
There are two basic aspects of the page we'll want to color:
For example, the background of this frame is white and the foreground is black for unlinked text and a blue color for linked text and (if your browser supports stylesheets) for headers, while the exact opposite is true of the navigational frame to the left of this frame.
